Read MoreI live in the high desert at the base of a mountain in Colorado. At an elevation approaching 8,000 feet, the air is thin in my little community and because of this I think you really do feel closer to the heavens. The sun is intense at this altitude and the landscape reflects this solar bleaching. The flowers in the patterns featured above were inspired by this lovely place. The sun is shining every day—except when it's snowing. My textile designs in this animated gif remind me to enjoy the warm days because snow season is just around the corner.
